Dangote to establish rice mills in Kano
The Dangote Group of companies has concluded plans to establish rice mills of 250,000 tonnes per annum capacity in Kano, the chief executive director of the company, Hajiya Halima Dangote, has said. She stated this at the Dangote Day at the 37th International Trade Fair in Kano, adding that the mill would be used in processing rice that would be grown through the company’s out-grower project in Jigawa, Zamfara and Sokoto states. She added that the company would also commission it’s fertilizer plant next year with a capacity of about 2.8 million tonnes per annum, adding that it could be the largest plant in sub-Saharan Africa.
